control groups had small improvements in BMI and HbA1c.<\/li>\n<li>Those in the intervention group improved triglyceride level, total cholesterol\u2013HDL ratio as well as physical and mental HR-QoL domains.<\/li>\n<li>Both intervention and control group showed better cognitive performance after 6 months, but there was no indication that the intervention group performed better.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1767793514224{margin-right: 60px !important;}&#8221;]The main findings were that the trial was feasible to deliver and efficacious in supporting individual lifestyle behavioural changes.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, these results should be interpreted cautiously as BRAIN-Diabetes was not powered to detect effects on secondary endpoints and the short trial duration of 6 months is unlikely to be long enough to detect changes in cognition.<\/p>\n<p>People with T2D were disproportionally at risk of serious complications from COVID-19 infection and advised to stay at home, which led to marked decreased attendance for routine clinical care as well as participation in research
